Yoga is one of the original concepts which today would be labeled as holistic. That means that the body is related to the breath; both are related to the brain; in turn this links with the mind, which is a part of consciousness.
Hatha yoga is the physical aspect of the practice of yoga. Hatha yoga emphasizes asanas (practice of postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and dhyana (meditation). It aims to balance different energy flows within the human body. The postures range from the basic to the complex, from the easily accomplished to the very challenging. While the movements tend to be slow and controlled, they provide an invigorating workout for the mind and body, including the internal organs.
This 4 week Course normally costs €55. For only €75 get the course PLUS a 30 day pass
For those with yoga experience who wish to explore the practice of Iyengar Yoga – not suitable for complete beginners. The Iyengar method of Yoga is named after our teacher B.K.S. Iyengar. The teaching helps you focus on correct alignment of the body in poses ensuring you’re working safely, with maximum benefit to your flexibility, strength and wellbeing. Props such as blocks and belts are sometimes used to allow those with less strength or flexibility to work correctly and achieve their full potential . The classes can be hard work, as the poses involve intense stretching; however you will leave the class feeling lighter and calmer. The immediate benefits of yoga are greater flexibility and strength, and better health. As you continue with your practice, psychological and spiritual benefits begin to appear.
“Long uninterrupted practice of asana, done with awareness, will bring success.” – BKS Iyengar
“Your whole being should be symmetrical. Yoga is symmetry. That is why yoga is a basic art.” – BKS Iyengar

At the elbowroom we have always loved the sense of community from our clients. We have strived to foster this over the years and make it grow. We firmly believe that this community spirit is what has you growing and expanding during these hard times. We are constantly trying to give everyone accessibility and affordability with both classes and clinic treatments.
Traditionally in Asia, acupuncture is carried out in a room with multiple beds. This allows for treatment costs to be kept to a minimum so that it is more accessible. Furthermore some conditions respond much better to more than one acupuncture visit per week. With this in mind, and for the following reasons, we have decided to launch the Community Acupuncture Clinic.
The Community Acupuncture Clinic operates between the hours of 2.30pm and 4.30pm on Wednesdays and Friday at 6:30. Please note that this is not suitable for pregnancy or fertility support. These appointments need to be booked into the clinic directly.
To avail of the Community Clinic, please contact us at info@the-elbowroom.com or contact us at 01 6779859 to schedule your appointment.
