Zumba

We love our Zumba so much we are adding extra classes over the summer.  These special monthly 1 1/2 hour classes will give you that extra oomph to get leaner and meaner for the summer.  Trim, tone and boogie  your way into slimmer summer clothes this year.

To add to the party atmosphere we are making our Sunday classes themed just for an extra bit of fun!  We ask everyone attending to bring 1 item of clothing or accessory tied into our theme.

  • Sunday 10th of June is Flashdance, think legwarmers, neon for our cheesy 80’s dance classics .
  • Sunday 22nd of July is Saturday Night Fever, 70’s choon’s break out your lurex and sequins
  • Sunday 5th August – we thought it would be hilarious to see everyone wearing boppers / Zogabongs / bunny ears.  Considering how much jumping around we do this should be a fun afternoon.

Classes cost €15 waged /€8 unwaged, please don’t spend too much on your accessories! £1 shop or Pennys is your best friend.… Read More

Restorative Yoga

Date: Sunday 27th May

Time: 12:30pm - 2:30pm

Cost: €€16

zen calm

I think Claudia Cummins from Yoga Journal sums Restorative Yoga up best.
“In an ideal world every asana would feel restorative. But those that fall into the special category of restorative poses have a particular ability to leave us nourished and well rested.  These postures are usually deeply supported by blankets, blocks, or other props and are held for several minutes at a time.   These soothing and well-supported poses offer us the opportunity to linger quietly for a few moments and savor the simple sweetness of life.

Restorative Yoga is the yoga of deep, aware relaxation. It is a Yoga of ‘Being’, rather than a Yoga of ‘Doing’. It relies on you using a sequence of 3 or 4 specially designed postures in which your body is completely supported. These postures need to be selected carefully to suit your unique needs. This allows your muscles to utterly relax and melt into place instead of stretching and straining into position. As your body finds the shape of the posture and melts into place your nervous system switches to calmness and a deep inner healing mode.

For stressed out modern day living this is must-have information and techniques. Your immune system will … Read More

For those completely new to yoga or haven’t been in a while and would like to refresh. Learn the basic postures, breath work and get a great yoga foundation.

Yoga is one of the original concepts which today would be labeled as holistic. That means that the body is related to the breath; both are related to the brain; in turn this links with the mind, which is a part of consciousness.

Hatha yoga is the physical aspect of the practice of yoga. Hatha yoga emphasizes asanas (practice of postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and dhyana (meditation). It aims to balance different energy flows within the human body. The postures range from the basic to the complex, from the easily accomplished to the very challenging. While the movements tend to be slow and controlled, they provide an invigorating workout for the mind and body, including the internal organs.
