<p>As you age, your muscles tighten and range of motion in the joints can be minimised. This can put a damper on active lifestyles and even hinder day-to-day, normal motions. Tasks that used to be simple, such as zipping up a dress or reaching for a can off of the top shelf, now become extremely difficult. A regular stretching programme can help lengthen your muscles and make daily living activities easier.</p>
<p>Everyone can learn to stretch, regardless of age or flexibility. Stretching should be a part of your daily routine, whether you exercise or not. <p>&#8216;There is nothing quite so common that presents in my clinic room as stress. We are all very well aware that at certain times we may feel stress. It is an inevitable part of life. However, it does become a significant health concern when periods of stress become on going.<br />
It has a very real and worrying contributing effect to nearly every health complaint you can think of. Not least of course it makes for a life less likely to be filled with joy and satisfaction.  It is such a slippery thing to deal with because there are so many contributing factors.</p>

<p><span class="bolder">So what is Osteopathy?</span></p>
<p>Osteopaths work with their hands using a wide variety of treatment techniques. They take a whole body approach and will assess joints surrounding your pain as well as the area of the pain, which allows for a much more comprehensive diagnosis. Techniques include soft tissue massage or muscle energy techniques to release muscle tension, mobilisation or manipulation of the joints to improve mobility and restore joint range of motion.<br />
Osteopaths are primary care practitioners which means they are<span class="bolder"> trained to assess and diagnose each individual case</span> and if the patient needs a procedure or treatment aside from osteopathy then they will recognise this and refer you to the appropriate medical professional.</p>
