Marriane JacuzziMarianne teaches weekly astanga and hatha yoga classes in Monkstown, Co Dublin, as well as philosophy intensives and workshops around Ireland. She is Yoga Alliance registered at E-RYT 500, their highest level, having trained in the Astanga, Iyengar and Sivananda (advanced certificate) traditions and taught regularly in Dublin since 2000. She has studied in India with many masters, including Sri K Pattabhi Jois and BNS Iyengar, and returns regularly to deepen in her own practice. She continues to learn with many senior western teachers as well.

Her meditation practice and study of yoga philosophy began nearly 40 years ago in San Francisco. In 2006, she completed over 1000 hours of course work in yoga philosophy and history with Georg Feuerstein, Phd., eminient yoga scholar and practitioner (two certificates). Balsekar, enlightened sage and teacher of Advaita Vedanta. She has an MA in English Literature and Language.

As a teacher, her goal is to help students develop a practice in harmony with their unique constitution and inner truth. Since yoga is much more than asana, she believes in expanding her students awareness of the vast tradition of yoga and introducing them to traditional practices beyond the asana. Honouring the innate wisdom in every student, she creates a sacred space, a peaceful and supportive atmosphere where students can explore who they are and move beyond limiting belief patterns. She helps students discover the Oneness between "life" and "the mat", between body and spirit, so that the empowerment which flows from the practice brings to their lives an abundance of Joy, Creativity, Acceptance, Trust and Love.

Marie Feirtear- Anatomy and Physiology

Marriane JacuzziMarie was born and reared in the gaeltacht area of West Kerry and yoga was unheard of until she went trekking in Nepal in the late 1990s. She was looking for a way to ease the tight muscles and found yoga helped a lot. When she came back to Dublin she forgot about yoga for a few years as she was a competitive swimmer & runner. She had a chronic hip strain as a result of a running injury and turned again to yoga classes in 2002. SheI loved how relaxed and how grounded yoga made me feel and explored Hatha, Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga.

She trained to be an Iyengar yoga teacher under Aisling Guirke and qualified in 2007 and is presently teaching Iyengar yoga classes in Dublin. She has found that her practice has evolved over the years and is now keen to explore pranayama and meditation in more detail.

Marie works as a chartered physiotherapist and find this really complements her yoga teaching. Her area of speciality is in orthopaedics and the musculoskeletal system. Her knowledge of anatomy and how the body works brings an awareness of safety and protects against potential injuries in teaching yoga asana. She believe in each individuals uniqueness, while joints and muscles may be similar, each individual yoga asana is unique to the person in that asana.

She i a keen photographer and traveller and have recently returned from a wonderful trip around the world with her daughter Siobhan.
She continues to be grateful for the benefits the practice of yoga has given her and appreciates the wonderful teachers she has had, both here in Ireland and abroad.
