Homeopathy helping pregnancy and birth

Homeopathy – can help through all stages of pregnancy and birth. By strengthening the mothers’ immune system through ‘constitutional’ treatment you can be assured of as healthy a pregnancy and birth as possible. The more in balance a pregnant mother is the smoother labour is likely to proceed, and the greater chance of giving birth to a healthy vibrant baby.

Aside from strengthening your immune system, homeopathy can help to alleviate the common discomforts of pregnancy such as:

  • morning sickness
  • vomiting
  • high or low blood pressure
  • restless legs
  • sleeplessness
  • painful joints
  • skin complaints
  • pregnancy diabetes

Homeopathy can also be used to treat a breech position. At 36 weeks a single remedy is usually enough to turn a breech baby. Sometimes the problem has to do with fear or anxiety from either mother or baby, this too can be treated and often just expressing your anxieties to the homeopath is enough to relax you and let nature take its course.

During the birth homeopathy is widely used to help give support to the mother and baby, to help avoid unnecessary interventions and help things run smoothly. Remedies are most commonly given for:

  • pain management
  • to help speed up a slow labour or slow down a frantic one
  • anxiety, fear and shock
  • to help turn the baby if facing the wrong way

The elbowroom clinic can supply you with a birth kit tailored specifically to you during a consultation.
