A birth plan communicates the way you’d like to approach your labour and can be an effective tool when used with other members of your birth team – A way to express your wishes in a concise and straightforward way to your team. We encourage our mothers to have a short plan and not to be over specific. We have worked with midwives to create a simple birth plan template for you which you can then personalise with your own desires.

Our experience as working as Doula’s and midwives in the Dublin hospitals, brings a wealth of experience of what to expect and how to navigate through hospital policy and busy wards. Writing a birth plan does not ensure a specific, guaranteed outcome. Rather, it is an opportunity to express the wishes and preferences most important to you and the type of birth experience you desire.

This 2-hour consultation will allow you to investigate and examine the choices available to birthing women today. Together we will create a unique, personalised birth plan that can then be shared with your care provider and used to facilitate discussion about the birth you want to achieve.
