The support a woman gets during birth makes all the difference. During labour a women is often spaced out and feels vulnerable. Having effective support allows a woman to feel protected and nurtured. In reality, unless someone has been present at several births, being faced with supporting a birthing mother can be very daunting. Fathers especially feel vulnerable and like a fish out of water. How they react can have huge effects on the birth process.

This workshop will look in detail at a birthing woman's needs, how she behaves and how best to support her during this time. Learning to teach this workshop will benefit mothers who are looking to have a natural birth by empowering their partners to believe in them.
