Join us in Trust in Birth

On enrolling on our course, you will automatically join Trust in Birth as an associate member for free. This will entitle you to observe and assist in classes, receive our newsletter, invitations to special events and guest lectures and participate in our movement to improve Irish maternity services. We are building a network of specialists and mavericks in Ireland, and the Trust will give you a great opportunity to tap into their wealth of knowledge even after you have completed your training. We will also list your classes and services on our Trust’s new site.

If you are training to become a pre and post natal yoga teacher, our modular course is designed in order for you to progress your education at your own pace. Along with your comprehensive training manual, you will receive information sheets and student handouts to use in your classes. As the pre and post natal period can be a vulnerable time for mothers, the course also will educate you on alternative therapies for common conditions, nutritional advice and locating support groups and support services for your mothers. This will all add value to your pre and post natal classes and help women be better informed about their choices and support the decisions they make.

If you are taking an individual module to compliment your existing professional training, you can still enjoy the benefits of joining our association and receive newsletters and information updates. Midwives, Childbirth Educators, Physiotherapists, Doulas etc, can empower their clients with new and effective tools for coping with labor and having self belief, with skillful ways to enhance their comfort in pregnancy.

Our style is to teach the aspects of theory in an interactive and detailed manner whilst ensuring it is practically and safely applied. Our teachers have a great depth of experience and have personal experience of simple and complicated births and pregnancies. We also welcome the great depth of wisdom that comes from our students from their own experiences and understanding.

These modules are open to yoga teachers and non-yoga teachers alike.

Each student will need to complete the modules in sequence in order to become a fully affiliated Trust in birth member. In order to guarantee the highest standards of teaching the prenatal yoga teacher qualification will be awarded to those who complete Parts I-IV, have observed in 22 hours of classes, taught 4 hours of classes (under observation with feedback) and pass an assesment and writen exam (existing yoga teachers need not complete part II).

Teachers will be required to use their information sheets and class handouts whilst teaching to remain an insured member of the trust. This will ensure you are receiving the most up to date information for your classes and give you opportunities to broaden your knowledge through continuing education.

The elbowroom is a Yoga Alliance registered school. This programme is accredited by Embody and will be certified by the Yoga Alliance once their pre-natal registration process has been completed.
