Part III – Yoga For pregnancy teacher training
This module is the foundation to understanding pregnancy and birth. From the time before conception up until the baby is 1 year old, each mother, child and family undergoes huge and magical changes. This module will explain the science and unveil the mystery behind birth.

This two day basic module will go over the fundamentals of yoga. It is aimed at non-yoga teachers or those wanting a refresher. We must stress this will not prepare you for teaching yoga, but be a preparation for pre natal yoga teaching only.

This module is the first part of our yoga teacher training modules. This module will give an overview of yoga for yoga and non-yoga teachers alike in relation to the pre natal period.
Pregnancy is a time of great change for mothers. Not only are there physical changes taking place but hormonal and emotional ones as well. In addition, many women suffer from a variety of conditions during pregnancy and may not be aware that help can be sought through many alternative sources.
Yoga assists in helping mothers to accept changes that take place and take steps to help alleviate many problems that can occur. Perhaps more importantly, yoga helps a mother learn to relax. A skill that will be needed during pregnancy, labour and for many years to come!
This module includes:
This module will look at the specific ways to empower women wishing for as natural birth as possible. It will teach you how to encourage a mother to believe in herself and trust her body. Given the freedom to move, breath, make sound and express her wishes, a birthing mother will be more empowered to believe in her own innate abilities to give birth.
As a teacher, you will be able to bring exercises into your classes, that will show women how to focus whilst relaxing through labour. Increase their self believe in their bodies own capabilities and inner strength. In all this will increase their confidence to experience the best birth possible.

The first year is very important in the bonding of mother and baby. Women get precious little time to sit and enjoy motherhood in relaxing surroundings! Postnatal yoga with babies is a great opportunity for mothers to spend time with their babies, enjoying their development and watching the changes unfold.
Furthermore, women can feel a sense of isolation after having a baby and meeting as a group with others can give a great sense of companionship. Mothers are also keep to try and regain their shape and bring back pelvic tone.
Carrying and feeding babies along with interrupted sleep can play havoc with a mothers wellbeing so taking the opportunity to address their needs in a post natal class can be of huge benefit.
During this module, you will learn about the specifics of a postnatal mother, whether she gave birth naturally or had a medical intervention. You will learn how to improve and alleviate postnatal problems and help start working on their core muscles.
The module will also show how a mother can engage her baby in yoga asanas and do some basic yoga moves with her baby and includes:
The support a woman gets during birth makes all the difference. During labour a women is often spaced out and feels vulnerable. Having effective support allows a woman to feel protected and nurtured. In reality, unless someone has been present at several births, being faced with supporting a birthing mother can be very daunting. Fathers especially feel vulnerable and like a fish out of water. How they react can have huge effects on the birth process.
This workshop will look in detail at a birthing woman’s needs, how she behaves and how best to support her during this time. Learning to teach this workshop will benefit mothers who are looking to have a natural birth by empowering their partners to believe in them.
The great thing about yoga is that it builds on existing instincts, but you don’t want a labouring woman to think too much about techniques or positions during birth. You want her to space out and for her partner to take control. This workshop will teach you how to pass on that information. This module includes:
