The elbowroom is a Yoga Alliance Registered Training school Click here for our Yoga Alliance Registration details . This means our curiculum has met the requirements set by the alliance and our teachers meet the required standards in order to teach on a training course.
As a purpose designed studio, the elbowroom opened in February 2003. Initially the director, Lisa Wilkinson. was the sole teacher in the studio, but since opening the studio now has over 12 permanent teaching staff, 13 complimentary therapists and several apprentices. This totals over 60 years yoga teaching experience.
The ethos of the studio, is to make yoga enjoyable and accessible to anyone with a focus on our local community. We are also heavily involved in charity and run regular free classes for clients and workers in charitable organizations and have frequent “donation classes” where all proceeds go to charity. We also host frequent weekend workshops and mysore mornings with visiting teachers.
The school has featured, in the two leading Irish broadsheet newspapers, The Irish Times and The Irish Independent, featuring classes and the studio. The elbowroom was also listed in the top ten studios in the UK and Ireland in The Independent Newspaper, published in England. RTE (Ireland’s main television network station), featured the studio twice in the last year.
The school offers a comprehensive range of yoga classes and levels. Classes are conducted in a safe manner with all teachers being fully qualified and insured. We also encourage trainee teachers, with permission from their school, to assist in our classes to gain experience.
The school is now offerings a comprehensive and detailed teacher training course to selected students with a good yoga practice. We have great staff, a wonderful studio and a facility to allow our graduates to continue their education through ongoing workshops, seminars and classes.
We have been running teacher training courses since 2005!
