Occupational Therapy

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2008 in the UK and developed my specialism in Paediatrics from 2010. Prior to this, I worked mainly with adults with mental health difficulties in the community and an inpatient unit. Working in London provided me with a range of skills that are incorporated into my clinical specialism. I’ve worked in various environments including schools, clinics, and homes. I’ve worked with babies to young adults with my specialist area being children on the Autistic Spectrum (ASD), ADHD, DCD/Dyspraxia, Developmental delay. I also have many years working with children with physical disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Hemiplegia, Down’s syndrome, genetic disorders, Cancer and various other disabilities. My love of working with children led me to complete post-graduate training in Sensory Integration (Post graduate certificate), Sleep practitioner training, Therapeutic Listening programme, Supporting selective eaters, Splint & lycra suit training, certificate to practice in Housing adaptation and design and other courses.

I have worked for 11 years with children in the areas of clinical, school, health and judicial psychology. My training includes psychodynamic child psychology and art therapy as an evaluation and intervention strategy with children and their families, I have training in Chile and Spain; I have had the opportunity to work in places of very high social and cultural complexity, which includes work with the indigenous population, special educational needs, and violation of the rights of boys and girls who have been victims of mistreatment and/or abuse, between 3 and 17 years of age. Specialist in psychodiagnostics in projective and intellectual tests, as well as in psychotherapy.
