Breaking Down the Barre – Beginners Workshop
Barre is a fitness class based on the technique and style of a traditional ballet class. The great thing about Barre is you do not need to be a dancer to attend this class (no tap shoes or pointe work required).
This sweet practice is a fusion of ballet, Pilates and yoga that will leave you with improved posture, muscle definition, increased flexibility and reduced stress.
In addition, this class will suit just about any fitness level. The class is a dynamic and invigorating workout. In our Barre Basics workshop, you will get the opportunity to receive an introduction to the barre terms you hear in a class. Learn the technique, ballet keywords and to understand your natural “turnout”.
This workshop is open to everyone whether you’re completely new to Barre or you attend regular Barre classes as it is structured to improve your focus and technique and break down some of your favourite barre exercises.
Over the workshop, we will be focusing on leg lengthening, plies, core work and building sequences.
