Getting latched on to breastfeeding

Becoming a new mum is a fantastic yet scary time in your life. Everyone & anyone is offering you advice, while your hormones are running wild and your brain is imploding with that overwhelming sense of responsibility.  How do you come to terms with it all, especially when you haven’t even had a good nights sleep!
I’ve been reading an interesting article on mothering.com who asked their readers for 5 words of advice to give a new mum. Of the 50 quoted on the site 7 relate to breastfeeding, 6 to sleep and 23 to self esteem.

We run a new mum support group on Tuesday mornings when you can pop in for tea and a chat about whatever is on your mind, from sterilizing baby bottles to breastfeeding issues. Denise will be there with other local mums who can offer advice or just a shoulder to lean on if you need one this week.

If you are pregnant and what to get ahead of the game you can read Lisa’s recent article on breastfeeding for eumom.ie.  It’s packed with lots of tips and advice on what to expect. If you and your partner think you need more face to face advice, join us for our upcoming breastfeeding workshop on August 24th with our lactation consultant.
