Sarah is a Senior Yoga Teacher and Yoga Teacher Trainer accredited with Yoga Alliance Professionals (YogaPros). She has been a tutor on Yoga Teacher Trainings since 2012 and first trained in yoga in 2003. She completed her 300-hour Advanced Training with The Elbow Room in 2016 and is grateful to now be facilitating the philosophy module on the training.
Her academic background includes a BSc (Hons) in Herbal Science and a Diploma in Clinical Herbal Medicine, grounding her in both scientific methodology and holistic models of health. She values the dialogue between empirical enquiry and contemplative tradition, bringing that balance into her teaching.
Philosophically, her work is rooted in sustained study of classical yogic texts, including the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita, alongside long-standing exploration of somatic and embodied practice. She brings extensive experience in functional movement, mobility and alignment-based teaching, integrating anatomical clarity with subtle awareness in both practice and philosophy.
Sarah is particularly interested in how yogic philosophy illuminates patterns of conditioning, identity and the process of liberation in psychological as well as spiritual terms. She teaches philosophy as something to be lived and embodied, not merely studied.
Alongside her yoga career, she sustains a long-standing personal practice informed by ritual and land-based spirituality. Ordained as a Priestess of the Sacred Land and Spiritual Celebrant through the Coire Sois School of Irish Spirituality, she is interested in understanding spirituality and psyche as relational and ecological, while remaining grounded and applicable to everyday life. Her work is grounded in lived relationship with the natural world and shaped by years of guiding others in practices that cultivate listening, steadiness, and embodied presence. She brings a deep respect for place, rhythm, and the intelligence of the land into the spaces she holds.
