50hr Yoga Teacher Training
Beyond Asana – Open up a new level of enquiry through the self, to the self
Join us for a wonderful journey of exploration as we delve into areas of yoga that will feed your soul. This training is an opportunity to go beyond Asana as we balance the 8 limbs of yoga. You will be guided by grounded and experienced teachers Mary Williams and Bev Porrino who bring their passion for yoga alive with love, care, and joy.
This course will cover the Yamas and the Niyamas and how to weave them through your daily life. We will look at the grace and power behind an integrated body with a new way of looking at anatomy. You will practice and learn about Pranayama for modern living. Be assisted to develop a strong self-practice that suits your lifestyle. We will explore meditation through the 4 yoga limbs pratyahara, Dharana, dhyana, and samadhi, and be treated to Music and Mantra.
MODULE 1. EXPLORE THE YAMAS AND NIYAMAS IN DAILY LIVING.
This self-study practice will include a 10-day practice of weaving one observance per day into your daily living, through thought, attitude, and action.
MODULE 2. MOVE WITH GRACE AND INTEGRITY.
In this module, we take a look at the movement of Asana through the anatomy of fascia, muscle, and Isometric contractions.
MODULE 3. PRANAYAMA AND THE MODERN YOGA PRACTITIONER.
Develop a regular pranayama practice to strengthen your respiratory muscles and ward off all manner of illness. These powerful breathing exercises not only give you more energy and vitality, but they also strengthen your lungs, they help your body process waste and toxins and are seriously important for your immune system health.
MODULE 4. An Introduction to the Chakras.
A series of practices and lectures dedicated to each Chakra. Each practice will individually focus on a Chakra exploring the colors, characteristics, and elements of each chakra and how to open them if they are blocked. When the chakras are free energy can move freely creating harmony in the mind, body, and spirit.
MODULE 5. GROWING THROUGH MEDITATION.
We will look at how to develop a Meditation practice through the exploration of pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses), dharana (concentration), dhyana (meditation), and samadhi (Standing within oneself).
MODULE 6. MUSIC AND MANTRA
If you are interested in learning how to weave music in your yoga practice. This module will tick all of the boxes. You will learn how humans have an emotional response to music, how the tonality of music influences mood. We will learn some basic manta, sing with joy and confidence, and discover the sound of the Universe, Om.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn and commit to this 50 hr Yoga training course, this training is a gateway to further Yoga training. This training is open to any students who feel they would like to deepen their own practice and knowledge of Yoga asana.
