Dr Shandeep Momi, MD
I have been a doctor for over 15 years. During this time I worked in pathology, radiology, A&E and as a GP. My conventional medical training taught me a great deal but it was never really able to put my daughter’s and my wife’s Hashimoto’s into remission and get to the root of their illness.
It took 10 years of intensive research and diligent investigating to master their ailment: hypothyroidism caused by Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. I came across a new approach called Functional Medicine which changed my whole outlook on medicine.
This approach is based on the search for root causes and correcting imbalances, instead of just managing symptoms and masking the true problem.
For the past decade, I have researched hypothyroidism, adrenal dysfunction, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and all related topics to help my wife, my daughter and my patients to optimize their thyroid function and put their autoimmune attack in remission. I do this by following a research-based protocol that has helped many people to achieve optimal health. I will only be working with patients who have Hashimoto’s or undiagnosed hypothyroidism.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone take control of their health and put their disease into remission. It’s the reason I became a doctor in the first place; to help and educate those who turn to me for medical help.
I also have a special interest in nutrition. So, when I’m not helping my patients, I’m either in the kitchen with my wife and kids whipping up some tasty whole food meal or exploring different ways to bring health into our and my patients’ lives.
I grew up in the USA and moved to Europe 20 years ago to study medicine. I earned my medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Debrecen, Hungary. I spent a few years as a resident in pathology and radiology and then trained to become a GP in Norwich, UK.
