Backbends – A Step By Step Guide with Aga

Backbends – A Step By Step Guide with Aga
This events has past

Learn backbends with skill and confidence, safely guided by Aga, ex-contortionist and yoga teacher.

Challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone, only to expand it and turn your weakness into your strength.

You will move at your own pace to open your heart and your shoulders. We’ll focus on creating more space in the spine and build a strong base for safe, yet fun back-bending. During this workshop, we will progressively work on building knowledge of the main back-bending yoga postures, deepen your body awareness and technical skills on how to do it right.

This interactive workshop will lift you up, open your chest, mobilise your spine and energize your whole body.

Aga Chojnacka

Aga qualified as a yoga teacher in 2016. She studied under the guidance of Susan Church, Melissa Curtis, and Lisa Wilkinson, and previously qualified in Pilates at Live & Breath Pilates, Dublin in 2015. To further her knowledge, she travelled to India and trained in Ashtanga Yoga Shala in Mysore, as well as exploring other styles of yoga and teaching in India, Bangladeshi and Nepal. Coming from an acrobatic background, Aga previously worked as performing artist, teaching acrobalance and contortion for many years before becoming a teacher. She first turned toward yoga to deal with chronic pain and injuries derived from her hyper-mobile joints. Heightening body awareness and perfecting alignment became key in her personal practice and the foundation of her work as a teacher. She sees yoga and Pilates as complimentary arts -  the perfect way to maintain a healthy body and a focused mind. She believes in appreciating your own growth and progress, and that building a strong and mobile body is an amazing way to expand our freedom and happiness.
