Weekend Wellness Workshop with Paula Flood
When it comes to weight loss and mental health, what you eat may not be as important as what’s eating you.
Many of us will admit to emotional eating, using pleasurable foods to calm and comfort ourselves in times of stress. Managing our stress response helps us to address the underlying reasons why we overeat or eat unhealthy foods. Bonus benefits of being calmer include better mood, improved digestion, increased energy and focus.
Join us for our weekend wellness workshop. You will learn simple techniques to use in everyday life which will build your stress resilience. These will include slow flow yoga movements, body scanning, deep relaxation and meditation. Throughout the workshop, you will be encouraged to connect with your breathing and heart rhythm, two key indicators of where you are on the stress spectrum. We will finish with a loving-kindness meditation, acknowledging that self-acceptance is the first step to transformation.
‘May I be kind to myself. May I feel ease in my body. May I accept my body as it is.’
