Yin for Shoulders with Eimear Beardmore

Do your shoulders ache after hunching over your desk all day? Have you a tightness across your shoulder blades the day after a hard training session?

In this workshop, we will look at how Yin can be applied to improve flexibility and mobility of the shoulders. This workshop is suitable for yogis and non-yogis alike. This workshop may be particularly beneficial for athletes, runners, cyclists and gym-goers alike.

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin is a practice that targets the ‘yin’ tissues of the body. It is a complement to more ‘yang’ activities such as other forms of yoga, sport and gym programmes. Poses are held for minutes at a time to target the deeper layers of connective tissue while simultaneously promoting and maintaining mobility. The longer holds of poses in Yin Yoga support a meditation practice.
