Yoga is not about touching your toes.

It's about what you learn on the way down.

Beginners Advice

So you are new to The elbowroom – a warm welcome! And welcome to the amazing practice that is Yoga!

Here below a few tips to get you safely acquainted with the practice.

  • Take it easy. Respect your body’s wisdom and limitations. Don’t push yourself to do anything that your body isn’t ready for and you should never feel any kind of pain. This is ‘Ahimsa’,  the practice of non-harm, which is very important in Yoga.
  • Don’t compare yourself to others – It is not a competition! Don’t worry about what the person next to you is doing. They may be very bendy but they may also have been doing this for many years
  • Remember to breathe. Never hold your breath in the poses.
  • Wear comfortable clothes and have an extra warm layer or a blanket for the relaxation part of the class.
  • Try not to eat for 2 hours before the practice.

All the classes are available in studio and online. We suggest you keep your zoom video on but this is not compulsory.

You will receive a zoom link up to 15 minutes before the class start time.
